3yr old afraid of everything!

by Brandy
(Omaha, NE)

I have a 3yr old girl. She is afraid of anything that moves. she is ok with people who walk and cars. she is afraid of babies that crawl, dogs, cats pretty much all animals. she is afraid of toys that make noise or move on their own. she totally freaks out! she screams and cries. she is even afraid of the potty chair. she did ok with it for a little while, but again it freaks her out and wont go near it. I was told that maybe she has a sensitivity disorder. I am looking for any suggestions or help for her!

My son shares the same characteristics NEW
by: Rachel

Hello, I just read your post and my son has those exact same fears as your daughter and my son is two. I just learned today that he may have sensory processing disorder through my local developmentalist worker. he was born premature and had some complications. i still have to see my pediatrician about it to be more sure and get all the history of the birth. i think it would be a good idea for you to see your pediatrician as well as a developmental team to help you discover more. It really has helped me explain the way my son has behaved over the last couple years. I hope this helps you!
