Adolesents sensory cloths diet

by Shellie
(Arkansas)

My daughter has had this disorder for years. Many times I have bought cute cloths she loved in the store just to get home and her never wear them. Now she and I go shopping together on a calm day (not a crowded sale day)and I give her time to try on the cloths in the store. She is able to feel them on her body see it in a mirror and approve the sight and feel on her body. If there is no time for this, learn to save receipts and don't fight about her wearing something she bought if she didn't try it on. Tags, elastic, and even material can be a real issue. Just return it and pick your battles. You and your child will be much happier if you just embrace that they are different, not bad or wrong just different.
