Be careful with picky eaters advice!

by Marie
(Arvada, CO, USA)

Please note that picky eating can be a sign of an food allergy and or a GI issue. For instance, our son was a picky eater and was put through much rigor for sensory integration diagnosis. However by 3 years old, we found out he was a picky eater BECAUSE he has Eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) http://allergies.about.com/od/foodallergies/a/ee.htm

I would put this advise on your web page. The symptoms of his particular disease were NOT dramatic but his biopsies after upper endoscopy revealed an extreme case of the disorder.

I am implore you to acknowledge this on your web page please!

More can be found on this issue at the following web address: http://www.thechildrenshospital.org/conditions/digestive/gastro/GEDP.aspx

For a good food allergy resource try the following link that is also helpful for special needs children: http://www.nutritioncare.net/
