Can't Quite put my finger on it!

My son is 6, and we have been going through a lot with him. He was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 4, but I have also noticed with him other symptoms that I can't quite put my finger on. I have noticed that he always has to be touching someone and or has to put things in peoples face, he always has to be in someone's face (either with his hands or with his face), he doesn't seem to understand "personal space"! He also has no sense of time! I can try to explain to him and show him(time and time again) about time and dates but he just doesn't seem to understand and gets extremely frustrated!! often throws fits and tantrums!

He seems to figit a lot when he has to sit in one spot! he gets extremely upset with noises, especially loud noises, I have noticed (and so has his teacher) that he would get really upset and hold his hands to his ears and say "its to loud"!. He does play with other children but often likes to play alone! I have also noticed that you CAN NOT reason with him, he is always throwing fits and tantrums!

I am currently working with a "worker" to help understand what is going on (because going through the school will take way to long!), we are still in the process of testing him, just seems so frustrating for him and myself, and my daughter (who is 9), and I am so sure its even more frustrating for my son, I would just like to understand what he is going through and find ways to help him!!!

Genetic testing?
by: Anonymous

have you had genetic testing done to rule out things like Fragile X (Martin-Bell) Syndrome?

Sounds like SPD

It definitely sounds like you are on the right track in exploring the possibility of your son having SPD. I would recommend seeing and occupational therapist and doing some reading on SPD.
