Car Games suggestions?

Our Son At Play

Our Son At Play

I have been struggling with my son. Frustrated so many times because I had asked so many times what to do. NO one could tell us what to do when our son hummed, what to do when he grabs the back of his neck.

Why he constantly must put something in his mouth. I could never get help with all this. Now it all makes sense I can print out activities and just get the help I need.

I use floortime and made a community. We all need a site like this to help. Any suggestions for things we can do in the car? What kind of toys for him and activities to help him? He is five.

What kind of toys for his mouth and he likes touch? What kind of squeezing games can we do?

Email me floortimerepository@gmail.com and let me know, or comment below.

Car activity

My son likes to sing songs. One of his favorites is Old MacDonald. I pause at the naming of the animal and he fills it in; the same with the animal noise parts. He's about to be 4 and has some trouble saying words clearly, but any song like this where he can just fill in the blanks works pretty well.

Chewing in the car

You might check with a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist about getting the rubber tubing they use for chewers. I don't know if there is something special about the tubing - I would guess it has to be a certain size and density to be safe.

Also, the elastic bands that Physical Therapists use are great. They can cut it to any length and you can tie it to something and your child can pull away at it forever.

Engaging in the Car
by: Anonymous

Thank you. I am always looking for different activities we can do in the car. We homeschool my son due to his ADHD-like symptoms. He is beginning to talk more and I have found he understands a great deal.

I made the site www.floortimerepository.com and one floortime play therapist had some good ideas. I am open to many more. Even some ideas for outside play ideas and encouraging exploring. I am out of Texas. He tends to rock in the car and now he is getting better about giving himself the pressure he needs. He still is rocking. I am not sure how to help him with that.

Car

My son is 4 1/2 and I know the problems of car journeys.

My lad is great at playing eye spy with colours of cars or animals; you say the colour you want him to find and if you use a colour chart with stick on velcro he can match them up.

Being in England with the only child I know with this condition is lonely and isolating, so thank goodness for people like you who care
