Could my 3YO be displaying signs of SPD?

In the last month or so, my 3 year old has been displaying some new and unusual behavior. He is frequently putting his fingers in his mouth, running his fingers along his face, wiping his tongue on the back of his hand, wiping his face on the couch, and tonight I caught him slowly rubbing a chicken nugget around his mouth and on his cheeks. This behavior seems to occur mostly while he is watching TV, although it is not limited to that time. I'm wondering if these could be signs of SPD. He is completely on track developmentally; he speaks very well, has been potty trained since 2.5, doesn't have behavioral issues other than the normal 3YO stuff. Should I take him to the pediatrician? Could this be SPD?
