Diet/food sensitivities

Hi. I'm 23 years old and I'm having a very hard time with my clothing and shoes. I always put it down to me having OCD, but now I know that's not the case. I can't go out and do the things I want, because of my clothes not feeling right and not being able to wear shoes.

I've heard of many people say that OCD and tourettes which I have both, as well as autism can be helped by diet or figuring out food intolerance's.

Do you think SPD could be helped by diet as well? Hoping someone can help me with this. Thanks

Cyclothymia

Thank you. I have learnt a lot by reading all the comments. My husband suffers from Cyclothymia and his main problem is anger and control issues
Perhaps the right diet and learning what he should eat might help.

Thanks again.

Diet cured my son
by: Anonymous

Removing gluten and casein was a miracle for my son. A miracle!! He had severe behavior problems - anxiety, aggression, hyperactivity, and head banging. Through an elimination diet we also learned that he also has intolerance to salicylates, amines, and glutamate (he’s hypersensitive to anything that stimulates glutamate receptors which is why removing gluten and casein had such an impact as this also meant we had to remove processed foods which in addition to containing gluten and casein also meant we were removing other substances he was hyper reactive to). On the right diet, he is completely symptom free. Behaviors return when he eats the offending foods every time. The food intolerances cause inflammation in his nervous system. For our son, diet is the answer.

I suggest you contact the panel of doctors who appear on TV on "The Dctors" program. Its headed by Dr Travis Stork and a group of other doctors. They give help and fantastic advise on all sorts of health problems. You can contact them on www.thedoctorstv.com

Recently Dr Moreno appeared on their show with food related advise. That was mainly for weight loss but he may have good advise for proper food for other health issues as well.
Good Luck!

Gluten/Casein
by: Anonymous

Yes, dietary changes are a great thing to explore! Gluten (wheat protein) and casein (milk protein) seem to be the main culprits.

We've seen an 85-90% improvement in my daughter's sensory issues after removing gluten from her diet.
