Does it tend to get worse with age?

My 4 year old has just few of the problems listed on the checklist but he never tantrums and seems to cope well enough, even though as parents we see these things are difficult for him. My question is, should we work with an OT now or wait and see if his ability to cope changes? Does it tend to get worse with age?

16 year old with SPD NEW
by: Doug

Hello,
I was diagnosed as having Sensory Integrated Dysfunction in 2006 when I was 11. My school has really helped me over the past 5 years, but I personally have noticed that some things are affecting me more now than 3, and in some cases 2, years ago. If I were you, I would try and get a diagnosis asap, as this will help your child through school because measures are put into place. It really helps knowing there is a safety net for the occasions that things get really tough for us.
Hope this helps you,
Doug :)
