Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in training

by Erin
(Rochester, Mn)

Another great idea to improve fine motor skills is to go to "Noodles" restaurant and ask for a pair of chopsticks and chopstick helpers. Allow the child to pick up any kind of object with them. This gets their hands working with the thumb and first two fingers. They can pick up pom pom balls, raisins, cereal, etc. They enjoy it and it can be used in a sand table as well to pick up hidden objects.
