Engaging Autism

by Alexis

This is a very detailed book for any parent that has a child on the spectrum. Stanley Greenspan M.D has treated thousands of children with autism. He is a clinical Professor at George Washington University Medical School of Psychiatry and Pediatrics.Serena Wieder Ph.D and Stanley Greenspan have spent many years developing the DIR Model.

This book goes talks about how children with autism missing some foundation block or developmental milestones. By getting down on the floor at their level and turning a running back forth motion into a purposeful game, it starts building a bond between children and their parents.

It starts a foundation for learning, I would recommend this book to anyone who has a child on the spectrum. For the inspirational stories alone.
