Fear of dentist and orthodontist

I have a 9 year old son who greatly dislikes visits to the dentist. He recently has been to the orthodontist and refused to have some work done at his last appointment.




He has some oral SPD issues (was diagnosed at 4 yrs.) but seems to have done better as he has gotten older. He will brush his teeth with little problem and is expanding his food variety.

Any thoughts on how to get him back to the orthodontist?
