mealtime problems NEW
by: Anonymous

My 7 year old son is very picky with food. He also has a hard time at mealtime. He has to switch his fork for each food, that is if I can get him to use a fork. Generally, he wants to use his hands to eat. When he eats finger foods he holds them in the palm of his hand instead of using his fingers. It looks like his is making a fist then holds the food so just a bit is poking out to bite off. When he eats chips this way they just crumble all over the place. I think it is odd that we cannot get him to hold his food in his fingers. Does anyone experience this and have any ideas?
