I think my 5 year old has SPD

My 4 year old is hypersensitive as it is, he has never stuck things in his mouth till now. Everything goes in his mouth. He hates loud noises is scared of everything, you can't even joke with him. Please help because I don't know what to do.

For the mom worried about possible spd I can suggest two things. First, print out thr checklist here, fill it out, and bring it to your pediatrician. Tell him or her you want an occupational therapist eval. Do not take no for an answer. The go to thr library and check out books on spd, or buy them on amazon used, they are good to re reference as the kids get older. My first book was The Out-of-Sync Child, then Raising a Sensory Smart Child. Knowledge is power. It is scary but the therapists in this field are amazing. Then find a support group in person or online or facebook. Everything will be ok, one day at a time. If its not spd, then good luck with the journey :) brenda
