I have often thought the same.... by: Anonymous
I often wonder the same. My son has all of the above. I do know asthma can be triggered by allergies. How the SPD part ties in-not sure. My other 3 kids also have allergies-one other i suspect has ADHD as well and also the SPD part. Very interesting, eh? Are we just putting labels on things that exist in a huge part of the population or is it just our kids? Not sure. All i can say is I know my kids are different. You just can see the SPD a mile away-oh and the ADHD-can't exactly miss that one in a group. It's my middle 2 of 4. They definitely march to the beat of their own drum. They are free spirits. People keep telling me to look at the positives but let me tell you-it's exhausting. there are positives but wow it's tiring at this age (they are 5 and 7). what scares me more is oh my, what happens when they are teenagers? People keep telling me kids often outgrow many of the tendencies. time will tell....

Associated Problems by: Anonymous
Hello,
They are all a stand alone diagnosis, but can co exist. Another words, someone can just have SPD, or they may have SPD and allergies, or SPD and ADHD, and it is possible to have SPD,ADHD,Asthma and allergies. SPD more often than not coexists with other problems.
