Keyboarding Speed

My 11 year old son who is purely SPD (no Autism, no ADHD, nor Aspergers) and is a excellent student. He is struggling with the required keyboarding class. His accuracy is high but his speed is slow. Is there any correlation with his SPD? I need something to take to the school.
