Long Term Health Concern

by Maryanne
(Arvada, CO)

Hello, My name is Maryanne. While I am 29 years old, I have suffered from Moderate - Severe SPD my whole life. In 2007, I finally was diagnosed and spent time with a set of great OTs. However, over time, I have struggled trying to tame my condition and have recently began to experience severe upper right abdominal pain and nausea off and on. While I am pretty sure it is Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (Bile Duct sphincter spasms), I have be unable to determine the cause.

While doing some research on the subject I found a correlation between SOD and Oversensitivity. I am wondering if any one else knows anything about this. I have not been able to find out any specific research between the two conditions, but without knowing what is causing these attacks, I can't control them. I know that Type III SOD can affect children as well as adults.
