Madeleine

by Madeleine
(Carlsbad, NM)

I am 60 yrs old married 36 years with a 19 yo son who has sensory processing disorders ever since he was an infant....Noises, tastes, smells, temperature, skin sensitivities, and very emotional--stubborn, frustrated easily, angers easily.

I thought he'd grow out of it and learn to cope with the sensory problems but right now his frustration levels are increasing along with his anger, and his judgment is becoming poorer.

In going over this quiz, I realized that I too have sensory integration issues which cause problems in my family.
I used to think I was just an unusual personality--now I see it is sensory processing problems.

Maybe it is time to get some therapy

sensory problems dont go away they get worse if not dealt with
by: Anonymous

If your sensory system is not functioning correctly it is difficult to learn. thus the frustration and poor self esteem.
Help would be helpful for you I think.
