My pain

by Jennifer
(Louisville,KY)

It is amazing to know that other people have sensory issues, issues with sounds, lights, perception, touch, smells...and I am not autistic. But my second cousin has been diagnosed with autism and my sister has MS and I have fibro...seems to be a pattern in our family...My cousin and I talk all the time about her son and I have sensory issues...and what the connection is....would love to know.

the connection, or cross over if you will, is that they are all conditions relating to the nervous system. when the nervous system is compromised these types of challenges occur. there is some fascinating reading out there about all the conditions you just mentioned and how they are related, intertwined and how much they can cross over. good luck.

Dear Jennifer, SPD can often be linked to autism spectrum disorders including Aspergers.and I have this experience, but I do not know the difference to the contrary.
