SPD vs ADHD
by: Anonymous

The behaviors manifested by children with SPD and/or ADHD are similar especially so it can be difficult to determine which or both are impacting more on a child. My suggestion is to try sensory strategies and see if there is an improvement in a child's organization and attention. This could be only immediate or is there any lasting effect.

ADHD and SPD
by: father of four

Our 10yo son was diagnosed with ADHD before his SPD was picked up. His sensory issues have always been a big issue and I think are the real problem. I would suggest that you should keep asking questions and seeking answers if you are unsure about the diagnosis. It was not picked up for many years in our son's case. All the best. I hope you find the answers.

Hi,

It is depends. Did you have the child check out with OT etc......? You should get it check out as it will ease your mind.

I think so
by: Anonymous

I believe it is.I don't know how many people have suggested that my 7 yr old has ADHD. Even our pediatrician insisted on doing the questionnaires and then seemed very surprised that it came back not even close to being in the ADHD range.
