Oral Defensive Daughter

by Jackie
(UK)

I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a 9 year old daughter with Down Syndrome. She has a very limited diet, eats sausage for breakfast, tins of spaghetti or tomato soup for lunch and Spag bolognaise for tea and always yoghurt (only one flavour and brand). She eats meatballs and burgers (steamed at school) and chips if served with gravy but nothing else. She will not even touch any other type of food let alone eat it. She is very difficult to dress and will only wear certain clothes, socks are a nightmare they have to be put on just exactly correctly with the seam in the right place, she screams the house down when cutting her toenails. She hates having her hair brushed. I am more concerned about her eating than the touching problems!
