Pain in my 16 yo son's knees

by Amanda
(California )

I have two boys, 18 and 16 and both have SPD. Proprioception problems have always been a problem with the 16 yo son. He really suffers from tremendous pain in his knees. Specialists have no idea what is wrong and they have been know to become swollen! He is very tall and skinny and coordination has become better over the years. It is so hard to watch a 16 yo have so much pain. Advice???

Has he been tested for Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis? I was just wondering because of the swelling.Another thought, has his vitamin D levels been tested. My little sister had ton of pain in her knees and was tested for everything including cancer and it was the vitamin D. She was so low.So when my son, who is 6, was complaining about sore legs/knees I started him on it and he hardly ever complains.

growing pains NEW

My mom took me to see an acupuncturist at the same age as your son. I never really got diagnosed... they said they couldn't find the problem with my swollen and inflamed joints... fingers knees ankles and elbows were the worst. They chalked it up to growing pains with n o treatment. My mom took me to a chiropractor with eastern medical knowledge and the acupuncture worked for me.
