PDD and sensory issues with a 7 year old.

by Sandy Patane
(Belmont, Ca.)

My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with Autism at 2 1/2. She has had early intervention and has made wonderful progress. But there seems to be some issues that are not making much progress. My daughter has always had food issues, gagging, throwing up, and just a picky eater. She has clothing issues that make getting ready for school a nightmare for the both of us. Pants are not tight enough, shoes are to tight. Short term memory issues we have not been able to pin point.

Are these issues linked with autism?

Most of the questionaires and check lists are for younger children. What about kids that are over 3?

Thank you

Same issue, same age
by: Peter T.

We are having the same issue with our son Gavin. His belt is so tight in the morning that it starts to rip after a few wears. These behaviors started over the last year or so.

Still have not figured out yet how to get past them.
