Picky Eater for Life

by Beth
(Memphis, TN)

OK. So I'm sure none of you want to here this but I am 29 years old and believe I have this--I am a picky eater and have been my entire life.

It's the TEXTURE of things that I can't handle, in general. I love the flavor of strawberries, bananas, oranges, etc but I CANNOT eat one! This also happens in the vegetable category--onions, peppers, etc. I have learned to try different varieties as I may like one and not the other. I do NOT eat iceberg lettuce. I can find a single shredded piece in a Taco Bell taco! It tastes very bitter to me. I LOVE fresh spring mix and other "dark green" varieties of lettuce.

Do NOT give up on your loved one! Encourage them to try it all once! And let them know it is OK to throw it up (I hate when that happens! Still does sometimes to this day--esp seafood!) or spit it out. Who knows what they will like?

Good luck and God bless!
