Picky in Penngrove

by Robin
(Penngrove, CA)

I started giving my child smoothies while very young (2 years)) to try and get in some fruit, vegetables and protein. We finally bought a vitamix which purees whole foods. With smoothies we are able to vary his diet (crackers, peanut butter, milk, and not much else). I'm able to put avocado, apples, strawberries, flax oil, nut butters, whole yogurt, juices, carrots, leafy greens, egg (from carton), protein powder, and various other foods into him with ease.

I usually make the main flavors of the smoothies either fresh strawberry or chocolate---you can't really taste the other ingredients. He is in the 50% for weight and is very healthy on his raw foods diet! He is almost 5 now and seems to be adding some new foods very slowly ( He tried bacon without throwing it up.)
