Sensory Awareness

by Amie
(Fresno, CA)

My daughter has been diagnosed with expressive language delay and possible apraxia of speech. Her speech therapist noticed that she "forgets" or is not aware when items are placed in her left hand. She will look about for the item and when it is pointed out to her that the item is in her hand, she looks at it like she had no idea it was there. I have no idea what is going on, or what type of treatments/therapies to do to increase her awareness in her hands. Any suggestions would be wonderful.
