SPD and eating out at restaurants

by Christy F

My almost-4-year-old daughter has SPD & oral motor disability (tongue weakness). She eats very little, so food usually does not interest her. We want to be able to go to sit-down restaurants with her, but even bringing engaging toys does not last - she wants to slide under the table or run around or squirm. No punishments or redirections we've tried have worked. Is this impossible to expect her to do with all the waiting for food and eating time required at a sit-down place?

That's a thought

It WORKS for the car rides, so that's a good idea. I just have to find one with a chargeable battery...the one for the car plugs in only. Thank you for your time & idea to try to help. :)

I know it's not very educational, but did you try a mini DVD player.
