SPD Therapy NEW

If you could give some examples of his issues and behaviors you may get some more specific advice. I have found that you just need to learn to pick your battles. Really try and read your child's emotions. Don't try and have him do something that you know he may react badly to, and if he seems to be getting upset by the situation remove him from it before he gets out of control. I don't know how old your child is but around 4 I was able to explain to my child that if he is feeling upset he can ask to take a break. This has worked well. If we are somewhere where we can not go outside we usually stake out a quiet place when we get there and he can ask to go to the quiet place when he is getting upset (he says he feels jumbled up). You have to look at some of the subtle signs that your child is giving you and try to adjust the environment accordingly.

SPD Therapy....waiting too NEW

I've found that the fits and behavior problems with my own son are worse some days then others. Make sure to reinforce good behavior and try to walk away from the bad.

Also, teach your child to roll across the floor, sort of 'Steam Roll' when a fit occurs, funny that it can really defuse the situation.
Good luck!

just love them NEW

each child has different needs....some more difficult then others....
make sure to give them lots of huggs....it reduces their stress with a low tome of voice and the pressure releases endorphins from their joints and they will calm down... know that it is not their fault...their senses are out of wack....when they are sitting on your lap, rub their head, run your hands up and down their legs with softness almost tickling...do not push them on their eating habits, don't rush them into events, talk softly and explain what is going to happen...get them into OT and physical ASAP. also swinging is sooo important....its summer and swing them and sing to them on the swing at least 30 minutes a day!!! god bless
