Throwing Things

Does anyone have any Ideas to help me help my 3.5 year old Grandson that Has SPD to stop throwing everything?




We have custody of him and his little brother we are told that both boys have SPD. But yet they are so different in their symptoms. The 3.5 yr old seems to be the most extreme.

also any ideas to help get him to stop spitting?

Sounds like he is seeking attention and control, but also seeking "excitement." Throwing things creates visual excitability for the vestibular system. I would encourage you to start taking him to begin swinging him and spinning him (on an office chair, perhaps) each day, providing that intensive vestibular input his body may be craving. The spitting I would deal with behaviorally ~ with firm discipline and boundaries.
