Vision focus problems

by Maureen
(Los Osos, CA)

Can someone tell me if there is a correlation between ADD/ADHD and a problem with vision focusing? Please let me know. Thanks.

Re: ADD and vision issues NEW
by: Rob

I know that sometimes ADD ends up being a misdiagnosis for vision problems. My daughter had convergence insufficiency (one eye would not drive to where the other pointed, so she could not focus on things close up, like books), which was treated using vision therapy. These issues can only be diagnosed specifically by a developmental optometrist, so you may wish to base some research there.

I can tell you from experience that my child has SPD and even vision problems. then I think there is a correlation.
