Adult SPD Sufferer

by Samantha
(Tennessee)

I realized I had SPD after reading a novel in which one of the characters suffered from the disorder. Then it ALL made sense. I couldn't figure out why noises grated on my nerves. Noises that even my husband said was not that loud. Crowds make me go beserk. All the noise, closeness, colors, smells, etc. make my head hurt. If a restaurant is crowded, noisy, and smelly, I can hardly wait to get out. I prefer to be alone most of the time. The older I get, the worse it seems to be. I also started to think that I was losing my hearing. When in a crowd, my ears feel like they are stuffed with cotton. The more noise, the worse it gets. I am so glad to have found out what the problem is!!
