Raising an Emotion-Based Child

Children who have Sensory Processing Disorder or fall somewhere on the sensory processing continuum (i.e., Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, SPD) often come from the right side of their brain, where emotions happen to be located. There is a parenting approach that is extremely helpful from Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control that helps in parenting a child out of love versus fear, and what to do when your child comes from an emotional place and you're trying to be logical (in case you missed it, that means you are literally in a different part of your brain than your child is). Check out www.beyondconsequences.com or www.postinstitute.com.
