Thought my boy was dressing up

Before I even knew anything about vestibular issues, and when teachers were still trying to bully me into giving my child medication for ADD...I just thought he had major dress up issues.

He spends ages every morning buttoning up his shirts until the point of strangulation. He insists on wearing closed shoes, not matter that we live in a place where 40 degrees celsius is just another day. He prefers long sleeves, even if he sweats a river at night. He tightens his sandals to the point of blisters at the end of the day.

Now that I know why, I've stopped arguing with him and he gets to button up what he wants and gets to tighten his shoes as much as he wants. Life is much easier.

Yes, once we parents figure it out, there is no "Normal", only our normal and we happily live in it!
