Hereditary

I have had issues with textures since I was a child. I eat my cereal soggy, hate socks and will not eat anything too "slick".
Now I have a year old whom is having some of the same issues. He only likes sweets and anything else make him gag. He will not pick up much food if it leaves a residue or remnants on his hands.
I could go on and on but I just need someone to verify if this is hereditary. Did I pass this disorder to my baby boy?
