In my class there is a little boy. All of the sudden, he has become violent saying shut up bitch, taking his lunch out of his mouth and throwing it on me, yells at the other children, he kicks, he likes to take his clothes off and be naked in the classroom, he also spits in my face, refuses to sleep during nap time, and we are afraid to allow him to interact with other students so i dont know whats going on but i enjoyed reviewing this this site because it was helpful. I'm just concerned and dont want to see a two year old child behave this way.

Concerned
by: Anonymous

I am concerned by the fact that this behavior started suddenly when it didn't exist previously. It sounds like you need to interview the parents to get a feel for what the homelife is like for this child. Pay attention to whether the child is reluctant to go with one or the other parent/caregivers, or fearful of them. If there are any signs of abuse, make sure to report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.

Intervention needed

I would definitely agree that some intervention referral is needed in an URGENT way- It is imperative that something be done-

Teacher of toddler

Hello,

It sounds like you might need the help from the Intermediate unit in your county to come out and have a behavioral specialist evaluate him. This person needs to do a FBA Functional Behavioral Analysis. To see what the antecedent is then the behavior then the consequence because our response to the behavior could be contributing to his behavior perpetuating itself.

He may have ODD oppositional defiant disorder or he may be bipolar or it may be his home environment....The evaluator must have an expertise in behavior analysis.

Good luck!

Jane
