My 5 year old daughter..... Help!

My 5 year old daughter will only wear pants that have ties so that she can cinch them up so tight that her belly skin actually looks pinched all around her waist! She will not wear jeans anymore because they don't feel good. I have tried so many different things.

Shoes and socks are an issue too. She has to put one sock on and then one shoe, then the other side.

She will not let me put her hair in any type of ponytail or will not let me put in barrettes. She used too.

She hates her winter boots, gloves, winter jacket. All of it is a struggle. Everyday is hard with her. I feel helpless because it wasn't always like this???? Help

My son was just diagnosed with spd. His is tactile our biggest issue is clothing, coats and shoes. Nothing is ever tight enough or it is too tight. I am very understanding after researching this disorder, but I must admit I dont know if I can take another year of the kind of mornings we have. I feel I am going to go insane. We have been doing the brushing technique for about a week now, no changes yet. He has major issues once we put on the shoes. I am hoping this year is going to get better now that we are going to OT.

She sounds just like my 4 year old daughter. Just over a years time I have noticed things getting worse, and oh my, the one sock then shoe thing, I was wondering if it was just my child. Sometimes I feel like she has a control issue, as if she wants to control me. The little off things she does and if I don't do it right or say the right thing it can be the start of a melt down that could last 45 min or more. Pants... shirts... socks... nothing is tight enough, then she gets mad and won't even fasten her pants or shoes.

It took the pre-school over a hour one day to get her to put her arms in her shirt. Thats when I knew I had to do something, I found this web sight and saw I wasn't the only one and this time the tears I cried were of joy.

She has a appointment with OT this month, my New Years commitment was to find answers for my daughter so we can help each other and better our relationship, she only little once...
