SPD and Meares Irlen

My adult daughter was diagnosed with Meares Irlen at age 16 and as she has got older seems to have all the symptoms of SPD too. Is there a connection between these two sensory disorders?
She wears the darkest unique shade of prescribed glasses but still has issues occasionally. Can anyone suggest ways of coping that might help her. She is desperate to get out, make friends and have a social live but struggles. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
