SPD Power Point?

by Carolyn MacDonald

My 5 year old has been diagnosed with SPD.

I am looking for a brief but powerful Power Point to educate the caregivers in the "Extended Day Care" setting he is in for 6 hours each day. It would also be nice to offer a brief PP on SPD to his teachers throughout the day.
Does one exist?

Maybe you could try to give them articles that you find relevant to your child, web sites, printed lists, anything. and keep giving the information to them. If you keep it in their attention they will be able to cope with your child better than with a one time meeting.

I have not found one. My suggestion is to have a local occupational therapist give a brief presentation to them. Be certain the OT is trained on SPD/Sensory processing and can provide a helpful handout to the caregivers. Sensory is difficult to explain and a lot for a novice to understand.
