What next?! Can't get my child to school because of not being able to wear shirts!

Help, my sweet daughter has been struggling with seams/spd but it has been manageable with brushing, undershirts (compassion), OT, wearing only flip flops, but now she won't wear the undershirt and can't keep a shirt on for longer than a few seconds. Help!

How do you get your child to school if they won't wear a shirt! She hates it and gets so frustrated as well. Heartbreaking.

I think if you want to get your child to wear shirts, it's best to figure out what may make your child sensitive to wearing clothes. It very well may be the texture of the fabric or it could have something to do with the design of the shirt.

Some kids will not under any circumstance wear anything with buttons on them because they don't like the feel of the shirt. I was one of those kids who never liked to wear polo shirts at all when I was a child. I wish I knew why that was because this would be an interesting sensory topic.

You can also talk to your OT or other sensory specialist to get some tips and pointers to better handle your concern. Hope this helps you.
