Help!

by Elizabeth Morris
(Thornton, CO)

My 5 year old is struggling at school. She has been hitting her friends, and sometimes teachers. She has been screaming at the top of her lungs when there is a change in her schedule at school.

She loves to rough-house and wrestle with us, and at home she is a very loving and well-behaved child. She does what is asked of her, loves to help with cleaning, etc. It just seems like at school she is overstimulated.

I don't know what our next step would be to help.

Observe Her at School
by: Anonymous

Ask her teacher if you could sit at the back of the classroom for a day and quietly observe what types of things seem to set her off.

Also, if the school has wifi, that can be an irritant for some children.
