I think I have SPD!

by K

I'm 29 years old and I just happened to hear about this disorder. I went through the checklist and I could relate to so many of these things! 44 out of the 140. I wouldn't say it's had a huge negative impact on my life, but I have had a lot of these social issues on this checklist. A lot of these things I've been working on for years and I've been beginning to overcome them. But it was so interesting to read this thing and see so many things listed that II thought were "quirks" for my whole life.

I hate "light touch" if someone comes up to me and starts rubbing my back, it makes me want to crawl out of my skin. If someone's holding my hand, for example, and rubbing the back of my hand lightly with their thumb, by the 3rd pass over my skin, my skin actually starts to hurt. Yet, I love cuddling.

I hate food with mixed textures! Shepherds Pie is so gross to me with the combination of corn and mashed potatoes!

I loooove sleeping under tons of heavy blankets. If I don't I have trouble sleeping.
I love touching things. I'm always touching stuff. My parents have been continually annoyed by this since I was little.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this. It explains a lot.
