Just not sure

by Sally
(Cincinnati Ohio)

I have a 5 yr old boy, hes in constant motion most of the time and doesn't not know how to give people personal space, he is still biting mostly out of frustration sometimes but I have asked him and at time he tells me he doesn't know why he did it!

Hes having trouble deciding what hand to write with and switches hands while trying to use scissors, sometimes I think it must be the way I discipline him, or something else I have done, he was evaluated but they decided that hes not bad enough to have to need occupational therapy!..he has a 2 year old brother (as well as a 6 yr old girl and a 4 month old baby in the house who seems to be trying to do everything that his big brother is doing and Im just scared that he is going to think some of the behaviors set out by is brother are normal.. what do I do?

DONT GIVE UP!
by: Don Forde

Seek evaluation again. Your son exhibits behaviors that are not part of normal development. Keep insisting on further evaluation, and if his school system wont provide it, then take him for private evaluation.

DON"T GIVE UP! Good luck.
