Mom

by Jo
(Grand Rapids, MI - USA)

In my opinion; Autism/SPD go HAND-In-HAND. As seen by my own personal experiences, as well as those of many of my biological family members.

Most of us are high functioning (with giftedness in one particular area). Asperger's - and ALL with sensory processing issues!

A few of my family members are low functioning (older siblings who were long ago just written off as being "retarded"). Funny how the one brother I'm thinking of can remember the license plate on any car and his ability with any numbers is amazing.

This same brother has all sorts of sensory processing issues!
