New to This

by Mom
(Texas)

My son is being evaluated, but we were told that he probably has SID. He was babbling normally at 1 year. Then the ear infections started. He was basically mute for about 6 months. He got ear tubes, and we were assured that he would talk quickly - it never happened. We went to speech therapy, which helped a nominal amount.

He is now being evaluated for SID. He loves to jump, rock back & forth while sitting (throws his back against the back of the sofa, etc.) and swing. He is the happiest little guy on the planet!

I have done a lot of reading on the subject and can see how the OT's work with the disorder to calm a lot of the behaviors, but does anyone out there know how this effects speech patterns?
