SPD and Autism

by Darina Ryan
(Ireland)

HI I was looking through the sensory checklist as I have a 2year old who exhibits a number of these traits he was diagnosed at 2 with ASD and I was wondering what is the difference as mentioned before Sensory problems can affect the way we react to situations communicate and react to the environment around us. Can alot of autistic traits be down to SPD?

i was told that every child with autism has spd but not every spd child has autism. Yes there are traits in spd of autism but spd on the other hand makes up most of the autistic traits for sensory issues any way.
