worse after traum
by: Anonymous

Thanks for the input. I have noticed that when I am stressed or over-tired I have to work harder to avoid becoming over-stimulated. It's good to know that I am not alone.

chicken or egg i.e. spd or abuse?
by: Anonymous

So, adult survivors of abuse have many of the same symptoms as those diagnosed with SPD? I think what you are saying is that we can't really know which came first.

worse after traumatic experience
by: Anonymous

I have no idea which came first for me but what I do know is that after a traumatic experience my SPD symptoms get worse, it's like my brain gets shocked into malfunctioning. I recently had a pretty bad experience and since then I've been worse then ever.

is there a link between childhood trauma and SPD?
by: Anonymous

I'm curious about this. I have a history of abuse with very few memories of my childhood. Which came first... the abuse or the SPD-like symptoms?
