Twice Exceptional
by: Anonymous

My son has SPD and is also falling into the gifted range. He has something that they call Twice Exceptional which means he is very intelligent, but also has a learning disability with the SPD (he has dyspraxia). It can be exceptionally challenging for these kids b/c they get frustrated easily because they know what they need to do, but cannot do it.

Not in my case
by: Anonymous

In our case, our 2 year old daughter has spd, and she is fairly slow mentally. We also have a one year old that is doing things that our 2 year old can't (the one year old doesn't have spd). That being said, they are not biological sisters, so it is hard to gauge how much of this is caused by the spd.
