Son 8 suddenly started moving his fingers and toes constantly

My son has suddenly started to move his fingers and toes constantly .He does this when he is reading or when he is doing his homework. When he is watching his siblings play on the ipad etc. What can cause this I am starting to get extremely worried.This has started just when he started school... In the afternoon his teacher is disorganized and cant really control the class which he cant stand,since he thrives on structure. I am unsure of whether that can be the cause.
